A solenoid brake is a type of brake that uses a solenoid to activate the brake. The solenoid is a coil of wire that is wrapped around an iron core. When electricity is applied to the solenoid, the coil of wire creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field interacts with the iron core to create a force that pushes the brake pad against the rotor.
These AC magnetic brakes are designed for long life, easy installation and minimal maintenance. They are electrically triggered and spring-loaded to ensure “fail-safe” operation.
